Newborn....

Hello...

Newborn photography is accountable for a big percentage of Tomato Photo's work in the last 1 year and we love the newborn photography.

In terms of business, it takes about 4 times the effort to do the newborn session as it is with family or children portraiture and unfortunately, it doesn't equate to 4 x charges..... So in terms of business, it doesn't make sense...

However, Newborn images are something that is closer to my heart and constantly remind me of the birth of our first child... Alex and the second child... Oliver...

It is the unforgettable moments and I hope to re-live it all the time....

Often surprised with our business projection... June turn up to be busy... so Thank you to all clients who is supporting our business each and every month. You guys are the reason why we exist...

Anyway... here are some shots that we really loves from the a few newborn session I did in recently...

Hint of smile in this pose, make this picture special... It is about control and refinement during the shots and loootsss of patience.

Deviate from my usual moody black backdrop as I would like to accentuate the color of the hair.... Mum and Dad both have dark hair (hahaha... got you thinking... Dad has German heritage hence the golden hair shows up after a generation)

Took lots of this shots and to my surprise, every parents have a very different "expression", (it can't be pose, can't be fake) when looking at their own child and absolutely love this type of interation.

Last but not least... I simply love the interaction of the parents with the newborn in last image... (it is a very tricky shot to execute to have everyone in the right position and the right "mood")

Biggest challenge for newborn photography is not the newborn... It is the parents, especially the first time parents.

As first time parents, we often panic when we hear the "cry" from your priceless little newborn. So it is the photographer's job to handle this stress.... that is 70% of my job....

That makes me realise that being a good image creator only account for 30% of the success of the shoot... the inability to manage client's stress level potentially makes the experience some what a nightmare.... scary but so true....

Regards,

Hart
