Choices in life

Life is full of choices....

The second you wake up, you start to make choices... consciously or unconsciously.

In photography business, there are so many choices to be made.

Photography itself is form of art and Business treat photography nothing but as just a "product". Some may argue that Art is not a product.

The balance between the 2 must be maintained in order to create harmony between the two.

The hardest choice in photography business is perhaps how to charge... and when to say "No". It is probably easiest to say "yes" but in the long run, this may be detrimental to:

1) professional development of a photographer.

2) Business operation.

Everyone loves bargain and hence typically, they will bargain in price or something else. It is very difficult to say "No" to that knowing that is probably the hurdle to jump across to get that assignment.

However, with reduction of price, there are two logical options to tackle the issue...
Option one, the photographer will take less profit.
Option two
, the photographer will keep the same profit but using "cheaper" option in offering their product and services.

With option one
, the photographer will feel demoralized and won't put 100% into the assignment.

With option two
, the product and services offered would be somehow "compromised".

Either way, the one who loses out from that is ultimately the buyer of the service or product.

So it is a choice we make in ensuring we are offering the best we could offer without any compromise.

Last but not least, the challenge in offering a service at a price.... It is a hardest choice to increase pricing, but we have to do so to keep us in the business and without have to compromise our work and also enjoy our work and coming out with best ideas all the time.

It is also our choice to offer personalised service hence, sufficient time and attention must be spend on each job. Our pricing from August 2009 has been increase slightly so we can stay personal rather than volume.

We would like to thank all of our clients who has put their faith in us and allowing us to create and to develop our style on every assignment.
